The Lights That Finally Fixed Our Pitch-Black Driveway
Long-haul flights turn you stupid in a very particular way. You land, you queue, you get the taxi, and by the time you are back at your own front door your brain has the reaction speed of a sedated tortoise. Add a driveway with zero outdoor lighting and you get me, most recently returning from Vietnam, patting down three coat pockets for keys while standing in total darkness next to a hedge that may or may not contain a fox.
Chương's fix, because he is the one who actually notices these things and then buys a solution before I have finished complaining about it, was a pair of TuyLuxe solar motion sensor lights. Two units, no wiring, stuck up either side of the driveway in an afternoon. The next late arrival home, the whole path lit up before we were even out of the car.

What It Gets You
Genuinely wide coverage
The spec sheet claims a 300 degree spread and up to 420 square feet per light, against what it calls a market average of 240 degrees. I can't verify anyone else's market average, but I can confirm that two of these either side of a modest driveway leave no dark patch worth mentioning. The 326 LEDs at 7000K give a clean, slightly clinical white light, not the warm amber glow of a porch lamp. It's a security light, not mood lighting, and it looks like one.
Three modes, mercifully simple
Dim mode keeps a low glow going and jumps to full brightness for 15 seconds when it senses movement. Constant mode is just on at dusk, off at dawn. Motion-only mode stays dark until something crosses its path. We run ours on motion-only along the driveway and dim mode nearer the door, so headlights don't set off a floodlit disco every time a neighbour drives past.
Solar, and actually solar-sufficient
No wiring, no mains socket needed, just a decent stretch of sun on the panel through the day. The claim is 12 to 15 hours of light on a full charge, which has held up through a normal British summer, less convincingly through a properly grey stretch. It's rated IP65, so rain hasn't been an issue, and ours have been through a few proper downpours without a flicker.

The included mounting hardware is the weakest part of the whole thing. Skip the flimsy adhesive strip and use actual screws into the bracket from the start. It takes an extra five minutes and saves you refitting a light that's slid sideways after the first windy night.

4.1 stars from 65 ratings, which is respectable rather than spectacular, and the reviews track pretty evenly with our own experience. Most buyers are straightforwardly happy: good sensor range, decent brightness, one reviewer bought a pair for their dad as a Father's Day gift and reported he loves them.
The complaints are worth reading before you buy. One reviewer flagged the sensor flashing intermittently in regular mode instead of staying steady, which we haven't hit ourselves but is exactly the kind of PIR sensor quirk that shows up in a small percentage of units. Another called the mounting bracket outright unworkable, which lines up with my note above; budget the extra effort there. A third reviewer, more resigned than angry, said they seemed cheaply made for the price and wasn't confident they'd survive a full season in their climate. Ours are still going, but that reviewer's climate may not be ours, and outdoor solar gear is always a bit of a lottery on longevity.
